Adriana González (soprano)
& Iñaki Encina Oyón (piano)

Although Adriana González comes from a country without any opera houses this singer from Guatemala thrills audiences around the world with her warm soprano – in Frankfurt recently too, as Micaëla in Bizet’s Carmen and the Countess in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro

This prize winning soprano is often praised for her exceptional musicality and audiences at places including the Opéra National de Paris, the Grand Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Houston Grand Opera and the Salzburg Festival cheer her to the rafters. She is much sought-after for other roles including Liù (Turandot), Mimì (La Bohème) and Juliette (Roméo et Juliette). Her broad and varied concert repertoire includes the Verdi Requiem, Beethoven 9 and Debussy's L'Enfant Prodigue. Her Liederabend, Absence, is the result of ten years collaboration with the conductor Iñaki Encina Oyón, who discovered the soprano on a choir tour in Cyprus.
