Mezzo-soprano Dshamilja Kaiser has been a member of the ensemble at Theater Bonn since 2017/18, where she enjoyed great success with roles including Carmen, Schoeck’s Penthesilea (in Linz too, in 2019), Ortrud in Lohengrin, Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana and Eboli in Don Carlo. Now she's back at Oper Frankfurt, where she appeared for the first time in 2019 singing Adalgisa (Norma), a role she sang at Den Norske Opera in Oslo, where she also jumped in to sing Carmen, returning for Madame Flora in Menotti’s The Medium (2020/21) and Ortrud in Lohengrin (2022), to sing Venus in this new production of Tannhäuser.  Earlier this season she sang Verdi's Lady Macbeth at Oper Graz, which was preceded by Amahl's Mother in Menotti's Amahl and the Night Visitors at the Volksoper in Vienna, Brangäne (Tristan und Isolde) at Vlaaamse Opera, Antwerp, and Alaris in Schreker's The Singing Devil in Bonn.  She sang the Foreign Princess (role debut) in Rusalka at Tirol Festival in Erl in 2019/20, returning there in 2021 for Fricka and Ortrud in new productions of Das Rheingold and Lohengrin. She sang Lisa in Weinberg‘sThe (female) Passenger at Oper Graz in 2020/21 and Lady Macbeth in Pascal Dusapin’s Macbeth Underworld at the Staatstheater in Saarbrücken in 2021. Dshamilja Kaiser, who has appeared at the Bregenz Festival several times, won the 2015 Austrian Music Theatre prize in the »Best Up and Coming Female Singer« category. After studying at the University for Music in Detmold Dshamilja Kaiser spent time at Theater Bielefeld before joining the ensemble at Oper Graz (2009-2017).
