Kateryna Kasper's roles this season include Venus in a new production of Mozart's Ascanio in Alba, Micaëla in Carmen and a Voice from on High in Don Carlo. Last season she thrilled audiences with Angelica in a new production of Orlando and Atalanta in Xerxes, Gretel in Hänsel and Gretel and Zerlina in Don Giovanni. In 2021/22 Kateryna Kasper added two roles to her repertoire: Oriana and Titania in new productions of Amadigi and A Midsummer Night’s Dream in Frankfurt, sang Orasia in Telemann's Orpheus on a European tour with the B'Rock Orchestra under René Jacobs at places including the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona and Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and made her debut at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin singing Arianna in Il Giustino in the autumn of 2022. Other roles sung by this Ukrainian soprano since she joined the ensemble in 2014/15 have included Lady Harriet Durham (Flotow's Martha - available on CD - OehmsClassics), Tigrane (Radamisto), Romilda (Xerxes), Antonida (Glinka's Iwan Sussanin), Valencienne (Die lustige Witwe / The Merry Widow), Nannetta (Falstaff), Mozart's Zerlina and Susanna, Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier), Komtesse Stasi (Die Csárdásfürstin), Anima in Cavalieri's Das Spiel von Seele und Körper / The Game between Soul and Body and the lead role in the world premiere of Eötvös’ Der goldene Drache / The Golden Dragon (commissioned by Oper & Schauspiel Frankfurt). She sang in this production again at the Bregenz Festival and Belinda in Dido and Aeneas with the company at the Edinburgh International Festival, and at Los Angeles Opera and other recent engagements have included Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) at the Oper im Steinbruch in St. Margarethen, Agilea (Teseo) in the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow. She has appeared in concert and recital in places including the Philharmonies in Paris, Cologne, Hamburg Elb and Moscow and with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Her first solo album - O wüßt ich doch den Weg zurück… / O if only I knew the way back ... was released in 2018. Recordings released in 2022 were cycles of Shostakovitch and Weinberg with the Vivente Trio, Weber's Freischütz (Ännchen) with the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra under René Jacobs and her second solo album Ein süßes Deingedenken (Sweet Memories of You) - Lieder by Fanny and Felix Mendelssohn - which was nominated for a 2023 Opus Klassik award. She won the 2014 Mirjam Helin International Singing Competition in Helsinki.
