Asmik Grigorian (soprano)

Recital

»As on stage, she’s not just a singer when she sings Lieder, but a performer, playing the mourning woman, yearning lover or nature loving wanderer«, wrote a critic from the Frankfurter Rundschau about the Lithuanian soprano Asmik Grigorian’s last recital at Oper Frankfurt. Since her triumphant Salome in Salzburg in 2018 she’s been a regular guest at leading opera houses around the world, including Covent Garden, La Scala Milan, the Vienna State Opera, where she sang her first Turdandots last season, and the Met in New York. Her roles in Frankfurt were the lead ladies in new productions of Manon Lescaut and Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta and The Sorceress. Her love of Lieder shines through in recital, in venues including the Wigmore Hall in London, and on several CDs, and a recording of Strauss’ Four Last Songs was released recently by Alpha Classics. We can hardly wait for this extraordinary artist's next recital in Frankfurt!
