Baroque expert Brian Dean is giving us the chance to hear the results of his extensive workshops with members of the Frankfurt Opern and Museumsorchester in this closing concert.
Playing on historical instruments for baroque operas is nothing new for the Frankfurt Opern and Museumsorchester, who thrilled audiences most recently with performances of Xerxes and Tamerlano, but what really is involved if you want to play your instruments in an historically accurate way? What differences are there between early and modern day instruments?
This is what the highly respected specialist Brian Dean, a member of the Freiburg Barockorchesters and a professor in Lucerne has been exploring with members of our orchestra.
