Pretty Yende is making her debut at Oper Frankfurt singing Cleopatra (role debut) in this new production of Giulio Cesare in Egitto. She appears regularly at leading opera houses around the world, including the Deutsche Oper and Staatsoper in Berlin, the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, the Vienna State Opera and Theater an der Wien (Vienna), Zurich Opera, La Scala Milan, Covent Garden in London, the Opéra national de Paris, San Francisco Opera and the Met in New York. Future plans include concerts at the Teatro Real in Madrid and Konzerthaus in Dortmund, a recital at the Opéra national de Bordeaux, appearances with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg and Brahms’ Requiem, Donizetti's Maria Stuarda at the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples and Offenbach's Antonia / Stella (Les contes d’Hoffmann) at the Met. Her repertoire includes Violetta Valéry (La traviata), La comtesse (Le Comte Ory), Amina (La sonnambula), Olympia (Les contes d’Hoffmann), Norina (Don Pasquale), Elvira (I puritani), Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Marie (La fille du régiment), Gilda (Rigoletto) and the title role in Lucia di Lammermoor. She graduated from La Scala's Young Artists Accademia, won 1st prize in several categories at the 2009 Belvedere Competition, three more a year later (the Vincenzo Bellini, Savonlinna and Leyla Gencer competitions), the 2011 Operalia Competition, received the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres from France in 2022 and sang at King Charles III's coronation at Westminster Abbey in 2023.
