Corinna Schnabel is back at Oper Frankfurt to repeat her moving portrayal of Daphne as an old woman in Claus Guth's astonishing production of Strauss' opera, a role she acted when it first opened and all subsequent revivals. Last season she was Pamina, as an older woman, in Ted Huffman's new Die Zauberflöte. She began her acting career in England before spening time under contract in Maßbach, Stuttgart, Hof and Würzburg. She was a regular guest at Schauspiel Frankfurt during Peter Eschberg's Intendanz (1991 - 2002), working with directors including Peter Eschberg, Hans Hollmann, Peter Palitzsch, Tirza Brunken and Thomas Schulte-Michels, returning in 2014/15 as Lene in Ibsen's John Gabriel Borkman (dir: Andrea Breth). She recently appeared in Tim Price’s Meeresgabe / Gift from the Sea with Frankfurt's Daedalus Company in the Gallustheater. Before training at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, Corinna Schnabel studied German at the TU in Berlin before returning to London to join the Leo Baeck Institute where she also worked as an author and moderator for the BBC. Her novel Herzgegend / Matter of the Heart  was published by S. Fischer Verlag in 2010.
