The young bass Alexander Kiechle is appearing at Oper Frankfurt for the first time. He joined Zurich Opera's international Opera Studio in 2017/18, since when he has appeared in operas including Salome, Fidelio,La fanciulla del West, Parsifal, La traviata and Die Gezeichneten. His repertoire includes Sarastro (Die Zauberflöte), Caronte and Plutone (Monteverdi's Orfeo), Falstaff (Nicolai's The Merry Wives of Windsor), the Watersprite (Rusalka), Osmin (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), Commendatore (Don Giovanni) and Hunding (Die Walküre). He held a year long scholarship from the Richard Wagner Stipendiat in Ulm in 2012. Claude Vivier's opera Kopernikus took this Bavarian artist to the 2014 Munich Biennale. A year later he sang Stani in Joseph Beer's Polnische Hochzeit / Polish Wedding with the Bavarian Radio Orchestra under Ulf Schirmer. He was a member of the opera studio at Opéra de Lyon in 2016/17. Alexander Kiechle, who is also much sought-after for concert work, sang the title role in the world premiere of Klaus Lang's Der verschwundene Hochzeiter / The  Bridegroom who Disappeared at the 2018 Bayreuth Festival. He covered Baron Ochs in Zürich last season. He went to the Menuhin Festival in Gstaad to take part in a concert performance of Carmen.
