The Lithuanian soprano Sandra Janušaitė has been under contract to Lithuanian National Opera in Vilnius since 2001, where recent roles have included the Countess (Le nozze di Figaro), Leonora (Il trovatore), Desdemona (Otello), Senta (Der fliegende Holländer / The Flying Dutchman), Sieglinde (Die Walküre), Micaëla (Carmen), Mimì (La Bohème), Cio-Cio-San (Madama Butterfly), Tatiana (Eugene Onegin) and the title roles in Puccini's Tosca and Manon Lescaut. Other recent engagements have included Turandot at Letland's National Opera in Riga, Tatiana at Oper Graz and Margherita (Mefistofele) at Theater Freiburg. She is a regular guest at the Aalto-Musiktheater in Essen, where she was a member of the ensemble from 2013 – 2015, where roles have included Cio-Cio-San, Rusalka and Gerhilde. She makes her debut at Zurich Opera in 2011 singing Rachel in Halévy's La juive. Sandra Janušaitė, who studied at the Lithuanian Music Academy, has appeared in concert in Italy, Spain, Russia and Great Britain. She is appearing at Oper Frankfurt for the first time.
