While Christoph Pütthoff was still studying at the August Everding Bavarian Theatre Academy in Munich he took part in productions directed by Dieter Dorn and Elmar Goerden at the Bayerische Staats Schauspiel. He started working at the Schauspielhaus in Bochum in 2005, where he won the 2008 Bochum Theaterpreis for »Best Up and Coming Artist«. He joined the ensemble at Schauspiel Frankfurt in 2009/10, since when he has worked with directors including Karin Henkel, Barrie Kosky, Oliver Reese, Andreas Kriegenburg, Jan-Christoph Gockel and Anselm Weber. This season his roles included Hendrik Höfgen in Klaus Mann's Mephisto (director: Claudia Bauer) and he took part in the online series Eternal Peace (director: Alexander Eisenach). He has taken part in many productions at Oper Frankfurt, including the incredibly exposed, sung, role of the Blind Singer in Aulis Sallinen's Kullervo.
