Roberto Saccà, one of the world's most sought-after tenors, is back at Oper Frankfurt, where he enjoyed great success with his the title role in Mozart's Idomeneo (role debut) and Bacchus in Ariadne auf Naxos, a role this German / Italian singer has sung at theatres including the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Berlin and Hamburg state operas, Zurich Opera, the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London and the Salzburg Festival. Highlights in his career have included Alfredo (La traviata) under Lorin Maazel at the re-opening of the Teatro La Fenice in Venice in 2003, Walther von Stolzing (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg) in Amsterdam, Zurich and the Salzburg Festival, Lohengrin at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Matteo (Arabella) at the Metropolitan Opera New York, Der Kaiser (Die Frau ohne Schatten) at Zurich Opera and the Hamburg State Opera and Loge (Das Rheingold) at the 2016 & 2017 Bayreuth festivals. Roberto Saccà returns to the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, where he made his debut singing the Drum-Major in Wozzeck, in November for performances of Elektra. This extremely versatile artist was a member of the ensemble at Zurich Opera from 1993 – 2002 and has worked with conductors including Ivor Bolton, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Christopher Hogwood, Fabio Luisi, Zubin Mehta, Seiji Ozawa, Antonio Pappano and Christian Thielemann.
