Austrian born Andreas Schager is one of the best Heldentenors there is. After making his triumphant international breakthrough in 2013, singing Siegfried in Götterdämmerung at La Scala Milan, the Staatsoper in Berlin and BBC Proms under Daniel Barenboim, he has been much sought-after for major Wagner and Strauss roles by leading theatres all over the world. Highlights in his career have included Florestan (Fidelio), Parsifal and Siegfried at the Staatsoper Berlin, Siegfried at the Semperoper in Dresden, Tannhäuser at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Apollo and Max (Der Freischütz) at the Vienna State Opera, Tristan at the Opéra National de Paris and Parsifal in Bayreuth, at the Hamburg State Opera and Opéra National de Paris. Roles this season included Siegfried at the Teatro Real in Madrid and Opéra National de Paris. He recently appeared worldwide in the Metropolitan Opera's live-streamed Met Stars in Concert and a gala to open the new season at La Scala Milan. Concert work has included appearances with the Cleveland Orchestra under Franz Welser-Möst in the Carnegie Hall, under Philip Jordan with the Opéra Orchestra in the Philharmonie in Paris, the Vienna Philharmonic in the Konzerthaus in Vienna and the Radio Symphony Orchestra Berlin under Marek Janowski in the Konzerthaus Berlin. Now he's back at Oper Frankfurt, where he has sung Menelas, Apollo in Daphne and appeared in recital, to sing the Tenor / Bacchus in Ariadne auf Naxos.
