Christopher Sokolowski, from New York's Hudson Valley, is appearing at Oper Frankfurt for the first time, stepping in at very short notice to sing Ken in this brand new opera. He studied at the University of Indiana's Jacobs School of Music and Purchase Conservatory before being engaged as a guest artist at Tanglewood Music Center and the Fondation des Treilles' Académie de la voix. In 2019/20 he sang the title role in Mozart's La clemenza di Tito in Bregenz, during his second year as a member of Stuttgart Opera's Opera Studio, where he sang roles for the first time including Wagner / Nerèo (Mefistofele), Le comte de Lerme (Don Carlos), Remendado (Carmen), Brother (Die sieben Todsünden / The Seven Deadly Sins), Don Curzio (Le nozze di Figaro), Tschaplizki (Pique Dame) and Vogelsang (Der Schauspieldirektor). He also joined the company for concerts at the Baden-Baden Festival and Opéra national du Rhin. He took part in a concert performance of Die Fledermaus with the Heidenheim Opera Festival in the Philharmonie in Cologne. He also has a broad and varied concert repertoire which he has sung at leading venues around the world. He joined the ensemble at theTheater in St. Gallen in 2021/22, where roles have included Dr. Richardson (Breaking the Waves), Tamino (Die Zauberflöte) and Gastone (La traviata). This season he adds two new roles to his repertoire there - Eisenstein (Die Fledermaus) and Siegmund (Der Ring in one evening) and sings in Verdi's Requiem.
