Marina Viotti was awarded Switzerland’s 2022 Music Grand Prix fo »extraordinary technical and interperative versatility«. Come and hear it in her recital, and first time on stage at Oper Frankfurt, titled About Last Night. She loves coming up with evenings of things which at face value appear to have little in common. The career of this winner of the »Mazars Young Singer Award« at the 2019 International Opera Awards mirrors how diverse Marina Viotti’s views on music are: she grew up in a musical family, starting on the flute and experimenting with jazz, gospel and heavy metal while gaining her masters in philosophy and literature. She finally dedicated herself entirely to singing. Time spent studying bel canto repertoire rounded off her studies in Vienna and Lausanne. She has appeared at leading houses around the world including the Munich and Berlin state operas, Opera Zurich, the Gran Teatre del Liceo in Barcelona and La Scala Milan singing roles including Handel’s Bradamante, Mozart’s Dorabella and Cherubino, Rossini’s Rosina, Donizetti’s Elisabetta and Strauß‘ Orlofsky. During the 2022/23 season plans include Gluck‘s Alceste at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, the title role in La Périchole under Marc Minkowski at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, Mozart’s Dorabella in Bilbao, Muse/Nicklausse (Les contes d’Hoffmann) at La Scala and Stéphane (Roméo et Juliette) at the Bastille in Paris. Concert work has included apppearances in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and Grafeneg, as part of»Schlossklänge/Castle Sounds«.
