Markus Noisternig works as a researcher and computer musician at the Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique/Musique (IRCAM), the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) and the Sorbonne in Paris, is a Senior Lecturer at the Institute for Electronic Music and Acoustics, the Universtity for Music and the Performing Arts in Graz and teaches at the universities for the Arts in Karlsruhe and Zurich. His artistic work is the cutting edge between experimental music and scientific research, dealing with aesthetic and technological aspects of immersive and interactive creation of sounds and systems of virtual and extended reality. As an artist and interpreter of electronic music he has worked on many productions with internationally renowned composers and ensembles, bringing world premieres into existence at leading European and international festivals. He as worked with Olga Neuwirth for many years, and is appearing at Oper Frankfurt for the first time.
