The conductor and composer Enno Poppe, to whom a portrait concert was dedicated during the 2017/18 season, suggested that the composer Mathias Spahlinger, born in Frankfurt in 1944 in Frankfurt, be the focus of this workshop concert. He was a professor for composition at the Music University in Karlsruhe from 1984 and Music University in Freiburg, from 1990, where he also rang the Institute for New Music.
