Portraits of contemporary composers and core 20th century works, which have influenced modern music down the years are, important, fixed features in theses Happy New Ears events. The first workshop concert this season is dedicated to HANNS EISLER, led by the Austrian composer, speaker, singer and conductor HK GRUBER. The composer EIVIND BUENE was born in 1973 in Oslo, where he works as a professor at the Music Academy, writing books and as a music journalist. He's happiest in the perimiters between written and improvised music. Then come portraits of the Irish composer, performer and university don JENNIFER WALSHE, also born in 1973, and the Italian composer and flautist CLARA IANNOTTA, born in 1983.
