After studying in Paris and Barcelona the French actor and director Cédric Chayrouse founded his own theatre group in 2001, which has been based in the south of France since 2011 and concentrates on contemporary dramatists. Recent productions directed by him there have included Chut! On an un plan by Chris Haughton and a piece for children - La nuit dans la forêt by Benoît Broyart – in which he also acted. Cédric Chayrouse is passionate about the French Catalan poet Jordi Père Cerdà's Œuvre: he has translated many of his texts and has directed, amongst others, L’Ocell cerdà. He also took part in a production of Quatre femmes et le soleil/Four Ladies and the Sun, directed by Neus Vila. Plays in which he has taken part have included Pere Calder's Chien Brosse with the Compagnie Teatre Nu, Bios (quelques tentatives) directed by Neus Vila, Joan Casa's Le dernier de la création, which he translated into French, and John Dennis' Un conte mineur.
