Verity Wingate is making her debut at Oper Frankfurt with the role of the Countess in Le nozze di Figaro. Later this season she sings her first Micaëlas in Carmen at the Hamburg State Opera and Wellgunde in Götterdämmerung (in concert) with the London Philharmonic Orchestra under Vladimir Jurowski. Last season she made her debut at Malmö Opera with the Countess and sang the title role in Tchaikovsky's Iolanta (in concert) at Theater Bern. She recently sang Mrs. Naidoo (Satyagraha) at English National Opera, Mimí (La bohéme) with Nederlandse Reisopera and the Governess in Brittens The Turn of the Screw. Her busy concert career has taken her to venues including the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Leipzig Gewandhaus, the Lincoln Center, Barbican Center, Wigmore Hall and St. Martin in the Fields. She was a member of Dutch National Opera's opera studio and won 2nd prize at the 2021 Gabor Belvedere competition.
