Gabriel Feltz has been General Music Director of Oper Dortmund and the Dortmund Philharmonic since 2013/14. He is also Chief Conductor of the Belgrade Philharmonic. Now this Berlin born musician is back at Oper Frankfurt, where he conducted Glanert's Caligula and Strauss' Arabella, for this revival of Wozzeck. This season he returns to the Komische Oper Berlin, where he enjoyed great success with Zimmermann's Die Soldaten and Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg for a L’enfant et les sortilèges / Petruschka double bill. Gabriel Feltz returns to Cologne Opera soon, where he is a regular guest, for Korngold's Die tote Stadt / The Dead City. He will be making his debut at Zurich Opera with Rihm's Hamlet maschine which will be followed by Haubenstock-Ramati's Amerika, and has been invited to the Grand Théâtre in Geneva for the world premiere of Christian Jost's Voyage ver l'espoir. Other operatic projects have taken him to the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, the Bolschoi Theater in Moscow and, Theater Basel, many times, where he used to be First Guest Conductor. This former Chief Conductor of the Stuttgart Philharmonic enjoys a busy concert career and has an impressive, and interesting, discography. He began his career assisting Gerd Albrecht at the Hamburg State Opera which was followed by invitations to the Städtische Bühnen Lübeck, Theater Bremen and Theater Altenburg-Gera.
