Dovlet Nurgeldiyev, from Turkestan, is a member of the ensemble at the Hamburg State Opera. Recent roles there have included Lenski, which he will soon be singing at Polish National Opera in Warsaw, Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), Steuermann (Der fliegende Holländer), Ferrando (Così fan tutte) and Belmonte (Die Entführung aus dem Serail. This season he can be heard in Hamburg singing Chevalier de La Force (Dialogues des Carmé­lites) and Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore), two new roles: Macduff (Macbeth) and Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermoor) and Dvořák’s Stabat Mater with the Orchestre National de Montpellier. Recent guest engagements have included Belfiore (La finta giardiniera) at the Staatsoper in Berlin, Alfredo (La traviata) at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich and Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni) in Montpellier, Versailles and Budapest.
