Born in Hungary in 1986 Tamas Frank-Dessauer studied double bass at the Franz Liszt Music Academy in Budapest and Hanns Eisler University for Music in Berlin. After time spent with the Deutsche Oper in Berlin he played with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra from 2011 - 2014. He was a member of the Staatsorchester in Wiesbaden in 2015 and has been playing double bass with the Philharmonic State Orchestra in Mainz since 2016. He also helped out at the Staatsoper Berlin, the Deutsche Sinfonieorchester Berlin, the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra, the Nationaltheater in Mannheim, the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz and the SWR Sinfonieorchester. He teaches at the Landes-youth orchestra Rheinland-Pfalz and Junge Deutschen Philharmonie. In his free time he composes songs for his son and loves baking cakes.
