Berlin born accompanist and chamber musician Klara Hornig has made a name for herself in recent years making music with many soloists. She started concentrating on accompanying Lieder and playing chamber music while studying at the universities in Lübeck and Hamburg. Her passion is the marriage between lyrics and music. She garnered important and life changing inspiration from metors including Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Wolfram Rieger, Brigitte Fassbaender and Irwin Gage. A much sought-after teacher, Klara Hornig holds classes in Lieder interpretation at the University for Music and Theater in Rostock and University of Arts in Berlin. She won prizes at the »Schubert and Contemporary Music Graz« and »Hugo Wolf Academy Stuttgart« competitions. The value she places on music and language, not just in recital, led her to come up with other ways of combining them, most recently with the actors Gerd Wameling and Peter Kurth.
