Emanuela Pascu is appearing at Oper Frankfurt for the first time, stepping in at short notice to sing Eboli in Don Carlo. She graduated from the Opéra National de Paris' Académie lyrique, where she sang roles including Messaggiera (L´Orfeo), Marianna (Il signor Bruschino) and a Greek Lady / 2nd Priestess (Iphigenie en Tauride). Recent highlights included the title role in Carmen  at the National Opera in Bucharest , Gertrude in Ambroise Thomas´ Hamlet at the Opéra de Saint-Ètienne and Mrs Doc in Bernstein's A quiet place at the Opéra National de Paris. Her repertoire includes the title role Hérodiade, Laura (Iolanta), Maddalena (Rigoletto), Olga (Eugen Onegin) and the Countess of Coigny / Madelon (Andrea Chénier). Concert work has taken her to venues including the Alte Oper Frankfurt, the Philharmonie in Berlin, the Auditorium de Radio France and National Center of Performing Arts in Peking. After studying at the National University of Music in Bucharest awards included 2nd prize at the 2017 Ottavio Ziino singing competition in Rome and she gained further invaluable inspiration taking part in masterclasses held by Ildar Abdrazakov, Ann Murray and Luciano d'Intino. Future plans include Ježibaba (Rusalka) at the Opéra Metz and Opéra de Reims, Eboli at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples and Mao's 3rd Secretary (Nixon in China) at the Opéra National de Paris.
