The US American mezzo-sopano Lindsay Ammann, a regular guest at leading opera houses in Europe and America, joined the ensemble at the Bayerische Staatsoper in 2021/22, where she can be heard this season as Ježibaba in Rusalka, Getrud in Hänsel und Gretel, Larina in Eugene Onegin, Wowkle in La fanciulla del West, 1st Maid in Elektra and an Innkeeper in in Boris Godunov and has sung the Forester's Wife (Das schlaue Füchslein / The Cunning Little Vixen), Anna in a new production of Les Troyens, Louise (Die Teufel von Loudun / The Devil of Loudun) and a Voice From on High (Die Frau ohne Schatten). Other engagements in recent seasons have taken her to places including the Metropolitan Opera, Dallas Opera, Madison Opera, Washington National Opera, the Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Aalto Musiktheater in Essen and the Seiji Ozawa Matsumoto Festival in Japan. Her repertoire includes Erda (Der Ring des Nibelungen), Brangäne (Tristan und Isolde), Mary (Der fliegende Holländer / The Flying Dutchman), Maddalena (Rigoletto), Olga (Eugene Onegin), Ciesca (Gianni Schicchi) and Ježibaba (Rusalka). She reached the semi-finals of the 2007 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and finals of the 2009 Sullivan Foundation competition in New York.
