Fleuranne Brockway, who was taught by Megan Sutton at the University of Western Australia, is appearing at Oper Frankfurt for the first time, stepping in at short notice to sing Ciesca in Gianni Schicchi. She was a member of the Royal College of Music in London’s International Opera Studio from 2019-2020. She sang the Lady Mayoress in the 2016 world premiere of Richard Mill’s The Pied Piper at Victorian Opera in Melbourne and roles at West Australian Opera in Perth during 2017 included Mercédès in Carmen. Her roles at Hessen’s State Theatre in Wiesbaden this season were Charlotte (Werther), Dorabella (Così fan tutte), 2nd Lady (Die Zauberflöte) and 3rd Maid (Elektra) and next season you can hear her there in three new roles: Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel), Maddalena (Rigoletto) and Carmen.
