Katharina Konradi is appearing at Oper Frankfurt for the first time. Born in Bishkek, she's the first Kyrgyzstanian soprano in the concert, recital and operatic world. She joined the ensemble at the Hamburg State Opera after making her debut there in 2018, as Ännchen in Der Freischütz. This was preceded by three years under contract to Hessen's State Theatre in Wiesbaden. Katharina Konradi's interpretation of roles quickly led to invitations from larger theatres, including Zdenka (Arabella) at the Semperoper in Dresden, a Shepherd (Tannhäuser) in Bayreuth and Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich under Vladimir Jurowski.

This season, as well as singing Marzelline in Fidelio, Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro, Musetta in La Boheme and Nannetta in Falstaff in Hamburg, she is involved in a number of concerts including Mozart's c Minor Mass with the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, a tour with the Arcangelo Ensemble under Jonathan Cohen, a New Year's Eve concert with the Bamberg Symphony under Manfred Honeck, Mahler 2 with the Dresden Philharmonic under Michael Sanderling and a concert performance of Beethoven's Fidelio with the Tonhalle in Zürich, under Paavo Järvi. She appears regularly in concert with orchestras including the NDR Elb Philharmonic, the Orchestre de Paris, the MDR and Bavarian Radio symphony orchestras under conductors including Thomas Hengelbrock, Manfred Honeck, Kent Nagano, Daniel Harding and Gustavo Dudamel.

She is also passionate about singing Lieder, appearing regularly in recital at leading international venues including the Schubertiada in Vilabertran, Schubertiade in Hohenems/ Schwarzenberg, the Wigmore Hall in London, Zarzuela Theater in Madrid, the Boulez Saal in Berlin and Konzerthaus in Vienna. Her partners when performing chamber music are the Gaspard Trio and Schumann Quartet. She won Germany's 2016 Music Competition and received support from the BBC's New Generation Artist Programme until the end of 2021. Her highly acclaimed CD Liebende  - Lieder by Strauss, Mozart and Schubert, accompanied by Daniel Heide - was released by AVI Music in 2021. Chandos released Russian Roots, a Katharina Konradi / Gaspard Trio CD, the following year and her latest recording - Insomnia, with music by Schubert accompanied by Ammiel Bushakevitz - will be released by Berlin Classics any minute now.

Plans for 2023/24 include Adina (L’elisir d’amore) and Servilia (La clemenza di Tito) at the Hamburg State Opera, Adele (Die Fledermaus) at the Bayerische Staatsoper and Valencienne (The Merry Widow) at Zurich Opera, another Barrie Kosky production. She will sing at the Schubertiade in Schwarzenberg this July with Malcolm Martineau and in a concert of music by Brahms with Marie Seidler, Ilker Arcayürek, André Schuen, Daniel Heide and Marcelo Amaral at the Schubertiade in Hohenems in the autumn.
