Anna Lucia Richter

Mezzo-soprano

Anna Lucia Richter is singing at Oper Frankfurt for the first time. She studied with Prof. Kurt Widmer in Basel before going to Cologne University, where she graduated under Prof. Klesie Kelly-Moog. Plans include Zerlina in Don Giovanni at the 2021 Salzburg Festival and her first Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel) in her home town of Cologne. Concert work in 2021/22 includes Mahler 4 with Bavarian Radio's Symphony Orchestra, Haydn's Missa in tempore belli with the WDR Symphony Orchestra and Bach's Matthew Passion with the Gewandhaus Orchestra and Leipzig's Thomaner Chorus. She recently worked with Teodor Currentzis and MusicAeterna in, among other things, a concert performance of Mozart's La Clemenza di Tito, the London Symphony Orchestra under Bernard Haitink, Giardino Armonico under Giovanni Antonini, the Orchestre de Paris under Thomas Hengelbrock and Budapest Festival Orchestra under Iván Fischer. She is a regular guest at festivals including the Lucerne Festival, the Proms in London, the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, the Philharmonie in Cologne and was Artist in Residence at the 2018 Rheingau Music Festival. Places where she has appeared in recital have included the Schubertiade in Schwarzenberg, the Schubertiada Vilabertran, the Rheingau Musik Festival, Heidelberg Spring Festival, the Park Avenue Armory and Carnegie Hall in New York, and she can be heard again soon in recital at the 2021 Elmau Liedwoche, the Wigmore Hall in London, in Duisburg and Beethoven's house in Bonn. She will perform the world premiere of Christobal Hallfter's latest work with the Schumann Quartet in Bilbao and Madrid in 2022. Her latest CD - Il delirio della passione (Pentatone) with the Ensemble Claudiana was released in early 2021.
