»Hänsel und Gretel «
Aged between 15 & 21? Let's go to a performance and meet people taking part in it, getting a glimpse of things normally kept behind locked doors.
In the 1890s Engelbert Humperdinck's sister begged him to set her version of Hänsel und Gretel to music. It went down so well he turned it into a full-blown opera. Director Keith Warner's brother and sister live in an orphanage. Their exasperated foster mother gets so cross she sends them out to find strawberries in the woods, where the witch lives ... They later return as adults, looking back on their unusual childhood.
