Guest appearance by Tokyo's New National Theatre's Opera Studio
A concert to round off a masterclass with members of the New National Theatre in Tokyo's Opera Studio.
The New National Theatre in Tokyo thoroughly trains young artists as well as staging operas, plays and ballet. Founded in 1998, the Opera Studio gives 15 singers the opportunity to gather invaluable professional experience and further develop their talents. Five singers, from hundreds of applicants, are selected every year to join the Studio for three years, being taught and coached by highly qualified professors and artists from Japan and around the world.
Travelling to Europe gives them the chance to find out about culture and lifestyles in other countries, where opera was born and is still an important part of everyday life society, with some of them deciding to come and live in Europe to further their careers.
