The choreographer Ramses Sigl works regularly with Claus Guth, in Frankfurt onThe Merry WidowDer Rosenkavalier (don't miss the revival April 2025!) and the Dialogues des Carmelités, and elsewhere: on Saul, Lʼincoronazione di Poppea and Handel's Messiah at the Theater an der Wien, Helmut Oehring's AschMOND and Martinů's Julietta at the Staatsoper Berlin, this production of Rodelinda at the Teatro Real in Madrid, La clemenza di Tito in Glyndebourne and, most recently, Bluthaus and Semele at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich. He was the choreographer for the Mozart Da Ponte operas at the Salzburg Festival. Another important partner is the director Jens-Daniel Herzog (they have worked together at places including Zurich Opera, the Semperoper in Dresden, Oper Dortmund, the Salzburg Festival and recently at the Staatstheater Nürnberg). He was choreographer at the Salzburg Festival for Robert Carsen's La clemenza di Tito (2024) and Rolando Villazón's Il barbiere di Siviglia (2022).He has also worked with Aron Stiehl, Bálazs Kovalik, Dieter Dorn, David Alden and Gil Mehmert at the Prinzregententheater, Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz and Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, the Hamburg State Opera, theatres in Düsseldorf, Bochum and Mannheim and in film and television (including Im Winter ein Jahr / A Year in Winter by Oscar winning Caroline Link). He teaches at Bavaria's August Everding Theatre Academy (where he was head of dancing (musicals) 1998-2012) and Iwanson School for Contemporary Dance in Munich and the Royal Swedish Ballet Academy.
