Anna Tomson returned Oper Frankfurt, where she rehearsed a revival of Christof Loy’s La fanciulla del West in 2012/13, to rehearse his new production of Giordano’s Fedora and assisted him on Rimsky- Korsakov's Die Nacht vor Weihnachten / The Night Before Christmas (»Performance of the Year« Opernwelt magazine 2021/22) and Nur wer die Sehnsucht kennt ̶ staged Tchaikovsky Lieder, which appeared online. She has worked as an assistant and revival rehearser at the Royal Opera in Stockholm since 1999, with many renowned directors including Ole Anders Tandberg, Dimitri Bertman, Friedrich Meyer-Oertel and, several times, Kay Metzger. She has worked closely with Christof Loy for many years, on operas including Parsifal, Der Rosenkavalier, Der ferne Klang / The Distant Sound and this production of Fedora when it was first seen in 2016. She enjoyed a 20-year career as a lyric soprano before going under contract in Stockholm, appearing at theatres including her home house and Volksoper in Stockholm, Theater Lübeck and the Spoleto Festival.
