Prize-winning countertenor Dmitry Egorov is back in Frankfurt, where he has enjoyed great success in recent years with roles including Olga (Eötvös' Tri sestry / Three Sisters), Azaria (Zelenka's Il serpente di bronzo), Handel's Eustazio (Rinaldo), Radamisto, Nireno (Giulio Cesare in Egitto), a role he sang at the Semperoper Dresden in 2019, and Andronico (Tamerlano) Ascalax (Telemann's Orpheus), the Sorceress in Dido and Aeneas,and Telemachos in Dallapiccola's Ulisse, to take part in this new production of Aribert Reimann's L'invisible. This Russian born artist sang his first solo role in Frankfurt whilst still a student at Mainz University - in Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria. In 2015 Dmitry Egorov sang Adelbert in Telemann's Emma und Eginhard at the Staatsoper Berlin under René Jacobs. Other recent engagments have included Handel's Giulio Cesare in Freiburg, Fürth and Klagenfurt, L’humana fragilità / Pisandro (Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria) at Cologne Opera, Puck (Weber's Oberon) in Gießen, Goffredo (Rinaldo) in Münster, Amadigi (Amadigi di Gaula) at the Staatstheater in Mainz, Medoro (Orlando) at the Handel Festival in Halle and Oberon (Britten's A Midsummer Night’s Dream) at the Grand Théâtre de Tours. Specialising in baroque music he has worked with many of the worlds leading ensembles and conductors including Michael Hofstetter, Ton Koopman, Konrad Junghänel, Bernhard Fork and Attilio Cremones. His first solo album Il primo uomo, with arias by Handel and Scarlatti, was released in 2011.
