The American soprano Jessica Niles is making her debut at Oper Frankfurt, singing the title role in this new production of Handel's Partenope. Recent triumphs have included Sandra in the world premiere of Bernard Foccroulle's Cassandra at La Monnaie in Brussels, which you can hear her sing at the Staatsoper in Berlin in 2025. Plans include the world premiere of I grotteschi, based on works by Monteverdi, for which Jessica Niles returns to La Monnaie. This young soprano was a member of the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich's Opera Studio from  2021–2023, during which time she enjoyed great success with Iris in Handel's Semele, Sandrina in Haydn's L'infedeltà delusa and Sister Jasmin in Haas' Thomas. She recently made her debut at the Salzburg Festival, singing Alexandra in Weinberg's The Idiot, and returned to the Bayerische Staatsoper for Musetta (La bohème), Marzelline (Fidelio) and A Shepherd Boy (Tannhäuser). Her repertoire includes Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Anna Reich (The Merry Wives of Windsor) and Armida (Rinaldo).  She was invited to the International Handel Festival, appeared in concert with the Bavarian Radio Orchestra, the Munich Chamber Orchestra and the Armenian National Philharmonic and sang in concert performances of Handel's Aminta e Fillide  with Les Arts Florissants, under William Christie at the Opéra royal du château de Versailles,  the Castell de Peralada Festival and in New York. She has received many prizes and accolades, including the Society for Championing the Munich Opera Festival's 2023 Festival Prize, the 2019 Peter Mennin Prize, the 2021 William Schuman Prize, the Kovner Fellowship (2018-21) and the 2020 Juilliard Vocal Arts Honors Recital prize.
