Joachim Ulbrich

Joachim Ulbrich studied the violin at Stuttgart Music University with Prof. Ricardo Odnoposoff. He won the first national »Young Musician« prize in 1980 and was granted a scholarship by Baden Württemberg's cultural foundation. Joachim Ulbrich held leading posts at the Staatsoper in Hannover and in the Frankfurt Opern- und Museumsorchester. He has been a member of the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra since 1999 and has been playing with the Skyline Symphony in Frankfurt (chief conductor: Prof. Michael Sanderling) since 2010. He enjoys a busy career as a chamber musician and is a sought-after teacher. He took charge of the string section department at the Music Academy in Villingen-Schwenningen in 2006 and founded the Grinio Academy for Young Instrumentalists.
