The German mezzo-soprano Silvia Hauer stammt comes from Kehl am Rhein. After studying at the music universities in Freiburg and Vienna she won the 2010 National Singing Competition in Berlin. After time spent at the Komische Oper Berlin she joined the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich's opera studio. She won scholarships to attend the Heidelberg Spring Festival's Liedakademie, the Festival Aix-en-Provence's Mozart Acedemy and the Aldeburgh Festivals'  „Britten Pears Young Artist Programme“.  She has appeared at the Potsdam'  Winter opera festival under Antonello Manacorda, Theater Bremen under Clemens Heil and Markus Poschner, the Komische Oper Berlin under Hendrik Nánási and Nationaltheater in Mannheim under Alexander Soddy. She joined the ensemble at Hessen's Staatstheater in Wiesbaden in 2015/2016,  since when roles have included Dorabella (Così fan tutte), Bradamante (Alcina), Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel), Orlowsky (Die Fledermaus) and Olga (Eugene Onegin). She sang her first Octavians in Richard Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier in 2019/20. Roles this season in Wiesbaden include Polina (Pique Dame), Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte) and Sesto (Clemenza di Tito). Silvia Hauer appears regularly in concert and recital, at places including the Rheingau Music Festival, the Lucerne Festival, Menuhin Festival and the Konzerthaus Berlin with a repertoire that ranges from Bach to contemporary music.
