Riccardo M Sahiti came to Frankfurt in 1992 and has been at the helm of the Roma Philharmonic since 2001. He grew up in what used to be Yugoslavian Kosovska Mitrovica. His talent for music led him to Belgrade, where he graduated in 2009 after studying with Prof. Stanko Sepic. He continued his conducting training at the Peter I. Tchaikovsky Conservatoire in Moscow with Yuri Ivanovic Simonov and the Frankfurt University for Music and the Performing Arts with Prof. Jirí Stárek. He took part in masterclasses held by Jorma Panula and Péter Eötvös. He has since conducted orchestras including the Belgrade Philharmonic, Kattowitz Philharmonic, Belgrade Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Savarija Szombathely Symphony Orchestra in Hungary. Riccardo M Sahiti was awarded the Bundesrepublik Deutschland's Verdienstkreuz am Bande from Joachim Gauck, the former Bundesprasident, at Schloss Belevue in October 2016. The city of Frankfurt honoured him publically in 2017 for being an »Oustanding Personality with Migration Background«.
