Henrik Nánási is back at Oper Frankfurt, where he conducted new productions of La gazza ladra and Chabrier's L’Étoile and performances of La Bohème and I masnadieri for this new production of Halévy's La Juive. Born in Hungary, he was General Music Director of the Komische Oper Berlin from 2012 – 2017, during which time he conducted broad and varied repertoire. Work this season includes The Flying Dutchman at Covent Garden in London, I vespri siciliani am Teatro di San Carlo in Naples and Tristan und Isolde at the Teatro Maestranza in Sevilla. Future engagements include repeat performances of Eugene Onegin at Covent Garden, Rigoletto at the Hamburg State Opera, La traviata at the Teatro Real de Madrid and a new Der Rosenkavalier, directed by Krzysztof Warlikowski,  at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris. He is a regular guest at leading opera houses around the world including the Metropolitan Opera in New York, La Scala Milan, the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Opéra National de Paris, San Francisco Opera, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Zurich Opera, the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Semper Oper in Dresden, Arena di Verona and Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. He also enjoys a busy concert career, appearing with orchestras including the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra in Tokyo, Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, Sinfonia Varsovia, the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid, the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and Bruckner Orchester Linz. After studying in Budapest and Vienna he spent time with Theater Augsburg and the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich.
