Born in the south of France, Tamara Durand had her first viola lesson when she was three. She went to study with Pierre Henri Xuereb at the Conservatoire royal de Liège when she was 16 and graduated from the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris in 2022, before joining the University for Music and the Performing Arts in Frankfurt's ERASMUS+ Programme in 2023. She currently studies in Anna Krimm's class at the university, where she also has singing and piano lessons. She has been playing chamber music since 2020 and her first album of works for viola and piano has been released. She joined the Frankfurter Opern and Museumsorchester for the 2024/25 season.
