Miri Kim

The Korean violinist Miri Kim was born in Tokyo. She gained her bachelors at the Toho Gakuen School of Music with Koichiro Harada, her masters at the University for Music, Theatre and Media in Hannover with Ulf Schneider and postgraduate studies with Silvia Marcovici at the Accademia Perosi in Italy and University of Arts in Graz. She was also taught by Mauricio Fuks at the Kronberg Academy and Chain Taub at the Barenboim-Said Academy. While studying for her postgraduate she was a member of the hr-Sinfonie Orchester’s Orchestra Academy under the leadership of Alain Altinoglu. She has also played with the WDR-Sinfonieorchester, the NDR-Radiophilharmonie Hannover and the hr-Sinfonieorchester. She won many prizes at international competitions, including 1st prize at the Japan Player's Competition and 3rd prize at the Euroasia International Competition. She was awarded scholarships from Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Hannover (2018/21) and the hr-Sinfonieorchester (2021/23).
