Steffen Uhrhan studied with Prof. Franz Lang at the University for Music in Trossingen. Whilst still a student he joined the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie and Schleswig Holstein Festival Orchestra. He gathered early experiences of life as a professional musician as an apprentice with the German Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken-Kaiserslautern. In 2006 he won a two year scholarship to join the Berlin Philharmonic's Karajan Academy. During his time in Berlin he was taught by Prof. Franz Schindlbeck and Prof. Rainer Seegers. His first job came in 2008, with the Nordwest Deutsche Philharmonie in Herford. He moved to the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Duisburg Philharmonic two years later. Steffen Uhrhan joined the Frankfurt Opern- und Museumsorchester in August 2012.
