Konstantin Krimmel (baritone) Brigitte Fassbaender (recitation) & Wolfgang Rieger (piano)
Recital
When Brigitte Fassbaender ended her singing career thirty years ago she did it with a recital: singing and reciting from Brahms’ Schöne Magelone. She’s back at Oper Frankfurt this season for the sixth time as a director – and appears in recital with Konstantin Krimmel. This time she's leaving the singing to this baritone, who caused a stir at a young age with his interpretation of Lieder, in his third recital in Frankfurt. A medieval tale about a knight called Peter from Provence and his beloved Magelone, from whom he’s been parted for many years, was clothed in romantic attire by Ludwig Tieck. The bridging texts, which make Brahms’ (only) song cycle understandable, are spoken by Brigitte Fassbaender. Brahms also composed fifteen romances. They are joined by Brigitte Fassbaender’s accompanist of many years Wolfram Rieger, and here's some more information about the programe!
