Armin Nassehi

Armin Nassehi was born in Tübingen in 1960 in and grew up in Munich, Landshut, Teheran and Gelsenkirchen. He has been a Sociology Professor at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich since 1998, specialising in sociological theory, cultural, political and knowledge sociology, about which he has published much of his research and findings, including more than 20 books. He has been editing the Kursbuch series of publications since 2012. Recently released books include: Prime Example. Theory of a Digital Society (2019, Engl. 2023); Discomfort. Theory of a Society Struggling to keep Up (2021); The Big No. Dynamics and Tragedy of Social Protests (2020) and Basic Social Mores. A Glossary of Public Speaking (2023). Armin Nassehi is a member of various venerable bodies, including the Leopoldina National Academy of Science, deputy chair of the Bavarian Ethikrates and member of the LMU in Munich's University Counsel. In his free time he loves singing bass in choirs.
