Judith Weihrauch studied fashion design and historical stage costumes in Vienna. She worked designing and making costumes and wigs at the Schauspielhaus, Burgtheater and Serapionstheater in Vienna and the Salzburg Festival before being engaged to be in charge of costumes for certain productions at the Volksoper in Vienna and Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich. She has worked as a freelance costume designer and stylist in Vienna, Graz, Munich, Hamburg, London and Tokyo. She has worked with Christof Loy for many years including Wozzeck at Oper Frankfurt, Euryanthe, Peter Grimes (which won the Best New Production prize at the 2016 International Opera Awards), Giulio Cesare in Egitto and Intermezzo at the Theater an der Wien and Jenůfa at the Deutsche Oper Berlin.
