This new production of I puritani is Sofia Pintzou's fourth production with the director Vincent Boussard. The first three were Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny / The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny at the Staatsoper in Berlin, Otello at the Semperoper in Dresden and at the Salzburg Easter Festival, and Le Prophète at the Aalto Musiktheater in Essen. Other places where this Greek artist has performed have included the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Arena di Verona, Staatstheater Kassel, Theater Lüneburg, with Sasha Waltz & Guests, the Satu Tuomisto & Comp., the NOW dance company in Seoul, the Hellenic Dance Company, the Athens and Epidaurus Festival, Greek National Opera in Athens and in the opening ceremony for the 2014 Olympics. A highlight in her career was the title role in Mikis Theodoraki's Elektra at the 2018 International Aegean Festival, choreographer: Renato Zanella. Future plans include the role of Eve in the world premiere of To Eve and to Adam with the Granhøj Dans company in Berlin, with whom she works regularly. This production will then be performed in China, Denmark, Estonia and Greece. Sofia Pintzou trained at the Greek State School for Dance, the Rallu Manu Dance School and in the Sport and Science department at Kapodistrian University in Athens.
