The mezzo-soprano Nina Tarandek is back at Oper Frankfut, where she enjoyed great success with a wide range of repertoire while she was a member of the ensemble at Oper Frankfurt, including Angelina (La Cenerentola), Dorabella (Così fan tutte), Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro), Sesto (Giulio Cesare in Egitto), Giovanna (Rigoletto), Kate (Owen Wingrave), a Shady Lady (Reimann's Die Gespenstersonate / Ghost Sonata), Antonia (Tiefland), Aloès (Chabrier's L’Étoile), Laura in Iolanta, Waltraute in Die Walküre), a Hotel Page in Martinů's Julietta, Cléone in Fauré's Pénélope, Tebaldo in Don Carlo and Madama La Rosa La gazzetta to sing Curra in this revival of La Forza del Destino. She also sang the lead role in Sciarrino's Luci mie traditrici in Frankfurt, a co-production with the 2010 Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte in Montepulciano (CD - Stradivarius, DVD - EuroArts). Recent engagements have taken her to places including the Tirol Festival in Erl, where she sang in Bach's Matthew Passion and Beppe in a new production of Mascagni's L'amico Fritz, the Semperoper in Dresden, the Theater an der Wien, Volksoper in Vienna, Staatstheater in Darmstadt, Theater Freiburg, to Vilnius and Caracas. She has appeared in concert with the hr-Sinfonieorchester, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Mozarteumorchester in Salzburg, the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, Zagreb Philharmonic, Simon Bolivar Orchestra and the Vienna Philharmonic on tour in China. She studied at the Music and Arts private university in Vienna.
