The German-Italian tenor Attilio Glaser is back at Oper Frankfurt, where he sang the title role in Massenet's Werther, Idomeneo and took part in a Museumskonzert last season (Verdi's Requiem and Schönberg's A Survivor from Warsaw) conducted by Thomas Guggeis, to step in at short notice to sing Macduff in this performance of the new production of Macbeth. He joined the ensemble at the Deutsche Oper Berlin in 2016/17, since when roles have included Don José, Rodolfo, the Duke (Rigoletto), Adorno (Simon Boccanegra), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni). Tamino, Alfred (Die Fledermaus), Walther von der Vogelweide (Tannhäuser) and the title role in Lohengrin. He also sang Froh (Das Rheingold), Helmsman (The Flying Dutchman) and Walter von der Vogelweide at the Bayreuth Festival, Narraboth (Salome) and Da-Ud (The Egyptian Helen) at La Scala Milan, the Duke in Rigoletto at the Vienna State Opera, Alfredo at La Fenice in Venice, Don José at the Stuttgart State Opera, Walther von der Vogelweide and Narraboth in Amsterdam, Idomeneo in Bern and Werther in Klagenfurt, Zurich and Lausanne. This season he sings his first Hoffmanns in The Tales of Hoffmann at the Opéra national du Rhin and his first Eriks in the Flying Dutchman in Berlin. Recent concert work has included Bach's B Minor Mass and Christmas Oratorio, Beethoven 9, the Mozart and Dvořák requiems, Handel's Messiah, Haydn's Creation and Mahler's Lied von der Erde. He has also appeared at the Beijing Music Festival, Holland Festival, the Brucknerfest in Linz, Rheingau Music Festival and Salzburg Easter Festival and worked with conductors including Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Chailly, Daniele Gatti, Thomas Guggeis, Oksana Lyniv, Christian Thielemann and Lorenzo Viotti.
