Frank Schulte

Frank Schulte studied teaching music at the University of Arts in Berlin, then opera coaching and Lieder at Leipzig University, graduating in 2006 with distinction. His piano teachers were Thomas Menrath and Markus Tomas. He's been working at the Komische Oper in Berlin as a soloists' coach since 2008, is much sought after as a Lieder accompanist and orchestral pianist, has taken part in many performances and tours to places including Budapest, Zurich and New York and realised all kinds of chamber music projects with musicians from other orchestras. He's a regular accompanist at Germany's National Singing Competition and has been teaching how to coach singers at the Hanns Eisler University in Berlin since 2024. He's enjoyed a close working relationship with Dagmar Manzel, which began in 2012 with The Seven Deadly Sins - Seven Songs at the Komische Oper. He appears regularly and goes on tour at home and abroad with Quinteto Ángel a tango ensemble he and Bandonist Christian Gerber founded in 2001, which has released many CDs including Kaleidoscope, Warner Classics, with the Egyptian soprano Fatma Said.
