Amanda Majeski

Amanda Majeski is singing the role of the Marschallin for the first time. She made her debut at Oper Frankfurt in 2012/13, as the Goose Girl in Humperdinck's Königskinder, since when she has returned for the title role in Dvorak's Rusalka and Vreli in Delius' A Village Romeo and Juliet. This season she made her debut at the Met in New York, singing the Countess in Le nozze di Figaro and sang Marta (role debut) in Weinberg's Die Passagierin/The (female) Passenger at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, where she returns in the 2015/16 season to sing the Countess and Marschallin. She will also be returning to Santa Fe Opera for Gräfin Madeleine in Capriccio, the Met, Covent Garden, Glyndebourne, the Washington National Opera and Teatro Real in Madrid. She recently gave her first recital in the Carnegie Hall in New York and sang Vitellia (La clemenza di Tito) and Eva (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg) in Chicago, Marguerite (Gounod's Faust) at Zurich Opera and Donna Anna (role debut) in Don Giovanni at Philadelphia Opera. A graduate of the Lyric Opera of Chicago's Ryan Opera Center and San Francisco Opera's Merola Program, she studied at the renowned Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia.
