Amanda Majeski is back in Frankfurt, where she thrilled audiences with performances of the Goose Girl (her debut here: 2012/13), the title role, Vreli & the Marschallin (role debut) in new productions of Humperdinck's Königskinder, Dvorak's Rusalka, Delius' A Village Romeo and Juliet and Der Rosenkavalier, to sing Marta, a role she sang for the first time at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, where she returned to sing the Countess and Marschallin, in this revival of Weinberg's The (female) Passenger. This internationally sought-after artist's recent highlights included the title roles in Lady Macbeth von Mzensk (BBC Proms), Salome (Semperoper in Dresden) and Káťa Kabanová (Covent Garden in London). She also enjoyed great success in works by Handel, Mozart, Wagner and Strauss at leading opera houses including the Met in New York, Zurich Opera, the Teatro Real de Madrid, De Nationale Opera in Amsterdam, Opéra de Paris, Washington National Opera and Glyndebourne. Equally at home in concert, she appears regularly with conductors and orchestras including Simon Rattle, Edward Gardner & Gustavo Dudamel, the London Symphony Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra & Boston Symphony Orchestra. Recent recitals have included Wolf's Italienische Liederbuch in the 92nd Street Y with Julius Drake and her debut in the Carnegie Hall. A graduate of the Lyric Opera of Chicago's Ryan Opera Center, San Francisco Opera's Merola Program and the Opera of St. Louis' Gerdine Young Artists Program, she studied at the renowned Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. Prizes have included the George London Foundation Award, 1st prize at the Palm Beach Opera Vocal Competition and a Sara Tucker Study Grant from the Richard Tucker Foundation.
