Constantin Zimmermann is making his debut at Oper Frankfurt, singing Coralto / Giove in this new production of Agostino Seffani's Amor vien dal destino. He recently made his debut at the Handel Festival in Halle, the PSALM Easter Festival in Graz and the Initeraire Baroque and SWR Rheinvokal festivals. This Swiss countertenor's recent engagements have included Amor in Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria at Zurich Opera, Puck in Purcell's The Fairy Queen, the male soprano in Du Yun's opera Angel’s Bone (first performances in Europe) at the Staatstheater in Augsburg and Disinganno in Handel's La bellezza ravveduta at the Stadttheater in Ingolstadt. He sang in Pergolesi's Stabat mater with the Ingolstadt Chamber Philharmonic, Handel's Messiah with the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra in Stuttgart's Liederhalle and with the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, under Jan Willem de Vriend. He graduated with distinction, under Juliane Banse's guidance, from the Mozarteum University in Salzburg in 2024, where roles included Public Opinion in Offenbach's Orpheus in the Underworld and Ottone in L’incoronazione di Poppea. This prize winning singer recorded »Spiritual Lieder and Arias« by Johann Sebastian Bach with Tom Koopman in 2014. Future plans include Ottone in Handel's Agrippina at the Janáček Theatre in Brno and his return to the Handel Festival in Halle, to sing Eustazio in Rinaldo.
